What do you think? It's hard to stretch it out for a photo and not drop stitches. I did drop some when I took this photo. I find myself rushing through and overlooking mistakes for the sake of time. It is losing its' entertainment factor. I am currently struggling on row 136. Saturday Clue 4 came out and it takes us to row 203. This coming Saturday the 5th and final clue will come out. I don't think I will be midway through clue 3 ~ and I have been knitting on this exclusively!

sigh. it started out fun.

meanwhile I tried to drop out of ms3 (mystery stole) but can't seem to be able to. I keep giving my stuff away before I get around to taking a picture to post on my blog.

if i have to choose between knitting and blogging, well, there is no contest.

currently in the works:

diagonal knit socks - I am really enjoying the pattern

mystery shawl 3 - still can't decide what yarn and beads to use. so far i have set aside some mandarin petit and some infinity soy silk. i think i will try knitting the first clue on each and go from there. white yarn on both of them. i do keep thinking that a black shawl would be nice to have, but do I really want to try to work with black yarn, and I am trying very hard to be good and use up my stash.

a top from knitty that is sitting in my bag using yarn I have frogged 3 times from sweater patterns i have liked the picture of but didnt like as I was knitting.

so, there is the latest on the knitting front.
Mikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860426575466880942noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21158877.post-7940693169306756752007-06-13T19:21:00.000-04:002007-06-13T19:28:32.714-04:00here we go again!ok - I am back -

i am stealthily typing this while on shift at work - shh!

i now feel the need to update my blog - i have signed up for a couple of new KALs and need a place to post my progress, pics etc.

new stuff:

mystery shawl 3

Coachella http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer07/PATTcoachella.html

ongoing stuff:

socks to use my stash so I can justify buying something else

dishcloths/washcloths - I have found that after awhile as a washcloth, I tend to relegate my less favorites to the kitchen.

more soon, but I have to go on break now!
Mikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860426575466880942noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21158877.post-1164588209829259212006-11-26T19:43:00.000-05:002006-11-26T19:43:31.376-05:00Monthly Dishcloth KALMonthly Dishcloth KALMikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860426575466880942noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21158877.post-1161814433748859482006-10-25T16:53:00.000-04:002006-10-25T18:14:06.106-04:00blog blog blogblog blog blog
Another attempt to be current with this blogging business. There are just too many sites to visit, too many patterns, too many yarns - I haven't even been keeping up with my email lately.

and I still haven't figured out how to get those buttons on my page.

I have finished my rpm socks in cth life's a beach supersock and I am wearing them today. I am not that please with my variation on a frill. I finished it. It's done, but . . . now what? it isn't a look I can carry off, it's not quite a shawl, but very long for a scarf. It is soft - but . . . I haven't decided what to do with it.

In the meantime I will content myself with socks and washcloths. I did make a baby feet washcloth from the leftover mandarin petit - I like it. I may just frog the whole thing and make a lot of washcloths!Mikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860426575466880942noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21158877.post-1158947013055932702006-09-22T13:43:00.000-04:002006-09-22T13:43:33.063-04:00
Working both ends to reach the middle! Mikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860426575466880942noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21158877.post-1158946978089868352006-09-22T13:42:00.000-04:002006-09-22T13:42:58.533-04:00
Frill held up to the light Mikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860426575466880942noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21158877.post-1157669918605812872006-09-07T18:58:00.000-04:002006-09-07T18:58:38.610-04:00
Wrap from the cover of Knitting Nature Mikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860426575466880942noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21158877.post-1157669878690865562006-09-07T18:57:00.001-04:002006-09-07T18:57:58.696-04:00
CTH Sugar Maple Mikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860426575466880942noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21158877.post-1157669828646578812006-09-07T18:57:00.000-04:002006-09-07T18:57:08.653-04:00
Current knitting in progress Mikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860426575466880942noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21158877.post-1157669617038642982006-09-07T18:53:00.000-04:002006-09-07T18:53:37.100-04:00
Thanks secret pal Bonnie! Mikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860426575466880942noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21158877.post-1157585549094605362006-09-06T19:17:00.000-04:002006-09-06T19:32:29.110-04:00Catching upFinding time to do both photos and write something just isn't going to happen!

anyway - the one skein secret pal has been fun, but 3 months was long enough. My upstream OSSP has sent me a pink scarf - along with a thoughtful letter telling me a little more about her.

Then I thought I would check my downstream OSSP - and guess what? Her current project that she has a photo up is also a pink scarf -

are you trying to make me feel guilty? well, it worked -

my sugar maple socks and peach "Knitting Nature" wrap are now on hold - I have started my own pink scarf.

I have been looking at knitty's variation on a frill for a while already and decided to try it now. I am using Mandarin Petit in a soft pink. I thought that since it is made with a fine yarn it could be used as a scarf or shawl.

I am pleased with the start I have made on it. The yarn seems to do better when knit with a larger needle, the yarn seems softer that other attempts I have made to knit with it. The frill part is fun to knit - I had trouble putting it down! darn that laundry and work that take me away from knitting! <G>Mikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860426575466880942noreply@blogger.com0
